(ISO:2015-Sept-25): PFEU Races Rolling Out on Arkadia, Calypso and ROCKtropia

After a hiatus in race operations, some budgetary magic and the acquisition of a racing fleet, the PFEU Races are back on. This takes the form of a slalom which, in this case, is a small race between identical all-terrain vehicles, conducted over varied terrain which navigates a series of waypoint zones (see http://racing.pfeu.org for details and race rules). The field will comprise six people drawn at random in the same way as is done for the PFEU Hunts. Vehicles with fuel will be made available, to all contestants, for the duration of the race and retrieved by the operator at the end of the race. Prizes will be as follows:

  1. First Place: 10 PED
  2. Second Place: 7 PED
  3. Third Place: 5 PED
  4. Fourth Place: 3 PED
  5. Fifth Place: 2 PED
  6. Sixth Place: 1 PED

To minimise the risk of placement error, participants will be required to team target their own vehicle. As before, the key to finishing in one of the PFEU races is to bring the vehicle across the line. Participants arriving without the supplied vehicle will be marked down as non-finishers and given the lowest available placement, in order of arrival. Participants arriving with the supplied vehicle will be given the highest placement in order of arrival. Any participants who get stranded at an outpost during the race will be picked up and transported to the teleporter network at the conclusion of the race. The PFEU wish to acknowledge Entropia Estates for their funding of the initial development of these races, earlier this year.

Announcing the PFEU Arkadia Race this Saturday on Arkadia.

This weekend, the PFEU will be hosting a Spear IV slalom on Arkadia. The race starts at 13:00 UTC (2015-Sept-26) and registration will open one hour earlier at 12:00.

Announcing the PFEU Calypso Race (2015-Oct-03) on Calypso.

This weekend, the PFEU will be hosting a Spear IV slalom on Calypso. The race starts at 10:00 UTC (2015-Oct-03) and registration will open one hour earlier at 09:00.

Announcing the PFEU ROCKtropia Race (2015-Oct-10) on ROCKtropia.

This weekend, the PFEU will be hosting a Spear IV slalom on ROCKtropia. The race starts at 10:00 UTC (2015-Oct-10) and registration will open one hour earlier at 09:00.

(ISO:2015-April-08): New Events

Thanks to new sponsorship, the PFEU is pleased to host some exciting new events.

Announcing the PFEU Races, sponsored by Entropia Estates.

This weekend, the PFEU will be piloting a new event which is hoped to become a regular spectacle in Entropia Universe. Taking the form of a cannonball run, a small race between identical all-terrain vehicles will be conducted over varied terrain. The field will comprise six people drawn at random in the same way as is done for the PFEU Hunts. Vehicles with fuel will be made available, to all contestants, for the duration of the race and retrieved by the operator at the end of the race. Prizes will be as follows:

  1. First Place: 16 PED
  2. Second Place: 8 PED
  3. Third Place: 4 PED
  4. Fourth Place: 2 PED
  5. Fifth Place: 2 PED
  6. Sixth Place: 2 PED

The key to finishing in one of the PFEU races is to bring the vehicle across the line.

PFEU Arkadian Puny Bash

After a successful pilot, the PFEU Arkadian Puny Bash has found a sponsor in Entropia Estates and will continue one a more regular basis. This event can be found through the event terminal and Simone Wauspaus Kelleners can be contacted, in-game, for more details.

(ISO:2015-January-27): New Year's Budget;
ROCKtropia loadout upgrades and implementation of Bravo Section

Due to the cancellation of activities as a consequence of viability problems introduced by VU 15, funding has been diverted to cover current initiative shortfalls as well as the preparations associated with the next phase of ongoing PFEU expansion and, of course, long term infrastructure development aimed at operational stability.

PFEU ROCKtropia Hunt Loadout now upgraded to Shotgun (FA) (L):
In line with PFEU Arkadia and Calypso Hunts

Following the success of a special shotgun hunt at Infected Landfill, upgraded from the usual Assault Rifle (SA) (L) loadout courtesy of a contribution from GillG.com, the decision was reached to upgrade the loadout for the PFEU ROCKtropia Hunts on an ongoing basis. The Shotgun (FA) (L) and 32.4k of Ammo (High Grade) raises the team's damage per second average from 5 to 38, which will allow the team somewhat more freedom in the selection of prey. However, the rate at which the shotguns consume ammunition is somewhat higher, limiting the duration of the hunt - even with the extra 2.72 PED worth of ammunition and decay. Experience on Calypso and Arkadia has shown that shotgun hunt duration is typically 20-40 minutes (as opposed to the old 30-60 minute hunts) and, in many ways, this hunt duration is improving the accessibility and intensity of positive experience yielded by the hunts.

Bravo Section:
PFEU response to seasonal increase in activity on Calypso.

With a new beachhead looming on the horizon and extra funds freed up the decision has been taken to expand human resources in preparation for the next potential planet operation (for Planet partner eligibility, please refer to PFEU Policy, Section 10). With this in mind, the current seasonal activity levels present us with an opportunity to temporarily expand the PFEU Calypso Hunts (so as to keep odds of being drawn reasonable and, thereby, reduce disappointment) and, in the process, take the opportunity to implement training exercises for prospective new team leaders.

(ISO:2014-November-03): PFEU Hunt coming to Rocktropia;
and streamlining of existing hunts due to recent version update changes

PFEU Sunday Hunt coming to Rocktropia:
The PFEU broadens coverage to support new players on yet another remarkable world.

November 9th will mark the beginning of free weekly hunts held by the PFEU on Rocktropia. This is not the first time free hunts have been held on Rocktropia and, in fact, the PFEU hunts are inspired by the CheapA$$ Hunts originally hosted here, and on Calypso, by Gill Greed Gush. The PFEU Rocktropia Hunts will be held at noon (UTC) on Sundays with registration opening an hour earlier at 11:00 and closing at around 25 minutes later with the random draw and announcement of those who have made it onto the day's team.

Recent Version Update changes and corresponding changes to the PFEU Hunt Timetable:
Adapting to increased expenses due to the discontinuation of the CheapA$$ Mk I Rifle (L).

The recent version update saw to the homogenisation of Trade Terminal stock parameter sets across all planet partners and culminated in the elimination of all unlimited items from Trade Terminal stock. In addition to this removal of stock, which formerly served the needs of players who are discontent with the throw-away consumer society, the CheapA$$ Mk I Rifle (L) has also been discontinued. This has been the PFEU's stock in trade and we will be unlikely to be able to offer this specific ordinance after ISO:2014-November-06. Increased operating costs, due to the higher expense associated with alternative weapons, has forced us to cut one of our weekly hunts. To ensure the broadest possible coverage, the Calypso-based hunt with the least response over the course of the year has been selected for discontinuation. The Thursday Calypso Hunt on ISO:2014-November-06 will not only be the last of the Thursday hunts on Calypso but, in all probability, it will also be the the last CheapA$$ Hunt held by the PFEU.

(ISO:2014-October-22): The birth of the PFEU; a new interplanetary NPO in Entropia Universe

Change of Name Announcement:
The PFC Hunts & PFA Hunts are being renamed as the PFEU Hunts.

The PFC, or People's Front of Calypso, has been known to many for the free weekly hunts on Calypso and via the PFA operations on Arkadia. However, after the successful expansion and consolidation of the People's Front of Calypso into Arkadia, the PFC has become an interplanetary organisation. To reflect the larger scale of PFC operations, the organisation has been renamed to PFEU or People's Front of Entropia Universe. As part of this expansion, the homepage of the PFC, now the PFEU, has been moved to

http://pfeu.org

The PFC and PFA Hunts along with the PFA sweat initiative will continue as the PFEU Hunts and Arkadia Sweat Event. It is hoped that, in the fullness of time, we can coordinate more activities with the addition of new infrastructure on other planets - and offer our team hunting experience to a broader base of new Entropia Universe citizens.
